The History of Rising Sun Auto Repair 

After working for two Toyota dealerships for 22 years starting in 1984 and becoming a Toyota master certified technician, Keith Garcia decided he wanted to have a more fulfilling experience. One where he could actually connect with the owners of vehicles and communicate with them about their cars directly. Fueled with frustration over not being able to discuss details with customers in his previous employment, Keith set out with the goal to create a business that would treat people like people, and not just another project to work on.

That’s when Rising Sun Auto Repair was born in July 15th of 2003. 

Starting out as a one-man team, Keith dove into his business headfirst and really started focusing on personal relationships within his shop. 

As can be imagined, this honesty and dedication kept bringing people back, and over time Rising Sun Auto Repair was able to go from a one-man operation to a fully-staffed shop that can support over seven families! With his son Peter by his side, Keith is excited to see Rising Sun grow through the generations as his grandson, Bear, is already talking about joining the family business (and he’s only 7).

But growing the business within the family isn’t all Rising Sun Auto Repair is excited about! 

Averaging around 70 vehicles a week, we have been able to assist thousands of individuals with their Toyotas- and ⅔ of those are familiar faces that continue to return and trust us with their repairs.

Rising Sun Auto Repair Goals and What to Expect in the Future 

So far, our growth has been rising with the demands of an expanding Bozeman. As the needs of the community continue to increase, our schedule will expand to accommodate those needs! We are incredibly thankful and excited for the progress and opportunities that we’ve had so far, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store. According to Keith, “as long as we can maintain personal relationships and quality repairs, we’ll continue to grow with our community”. 



When it comes to how Rising Sun Auto Repair is giving back to Bozeman, we only donate to local charities- that way, you know exactly where your money is going and how it is being spread throughout our community. We are passionate about maintaining a humble focus here at our auto shop, and we aim to continue that into the rest of 2021 and beyond.
